J.R. Simplot boosts data center efficiency with Sunbird DCIM by converting from 120 to 240V power

The J.R. Simplot Company undertook a data center refurbishment to improve energy efficiency for corporate green initiatives, increase IT rack density, and better manage equipment troubleshooting and risk. To meet this challenge, they partnered with vendor Sunbird DCIM to implement a solution.

The solution from Sunbird DCIM involved converting to 240 volt AC single-phase power and installing intelligent rack PDUs with outlet-level monitoring. This provided the customer with remote energy management, device-level power monitoring, environmental monitoring, and sophisticated power usage analytics, allowing them to achieve their goals of improved efficiency and increased power to IT racks.
