Water Services Utility Company, a utility provider, was struggling with fragmented spreadsheets, unclear asset locations, unreliable power/space/network capacity data, and unmanaged change requests—risks made worse by an impending staff retirement and a recent investment in intelligent rack PDUs. To enforce structure, transfer knowledge, and improve energy monitoring, they engaged Sunbird DCIM to implement the dcTrack DCIM Operations software.

Sunbird DCIM worked with the customer's operations and IT teams to import and discover assets, create a virtual buildout, connect iPDU and environmental sensor data to outlet-level monitoring, and manage work orders, reservations, and audits in dcTrack. The result was a successful, efficient data center rebuild, a single searchable inventory, accurate capacity-forecast charts and trending of power/cooling, reduced reliance on spreadsheets, and improved operational efficiency and confidence in change and energy management.
