UBS, a leading full-service bank in Switzerland, sought to offer its large SME client base a cost-effective and innovative card acceptance solution without expending significant internal resources on development. The bank partnered with the mPOS provider SumUp to quickly broaden its product portfolio, aiming to generate new revenue, attract new clients, and increase customer loyalty.
By leveraging SumUp's end-to-end mPOS service, co-branded tools, and automated reporting, UBS successfully launched the product. As a result of the partnership with SumUp, thousands of UBS clients adopted the service, processing over 1.2 million transactions from more than 700,000 end-customers. This initiative created an additional revenue stream and solidified UBS's reputation as an innovative bank.
