Case Study: EV Zug achieves faster cashless payments with SumUp and simply-X

Simply-X and SumUp provide modern card acceptance for a sports and events venue in Switzerland

simply-X, a provider of point of sale solutions, partnered with SumUp to address a challenge at the BOSSARD Arena, home to the EV Zug ice hockey team. The arena needed a fast, reliable, and integrated contactless payment system to handle high volumes of fans across its 35 kiosks and mobile registers and improve the overall customer experience. The existing simply-X PoS software was missing a seamless card acceptance feature.

By integrating SumUp's payment technology using its developer SDK, simply-X was able to equip the arena with SumUp's Air Card Readers for 100% contactless payments. The solution from SumUp drastically reduced checkout and waiting times and saved hours on manual sales reconciliation work. This successful implementation has led to plans for the arena to become completely cashless for all future events.
