The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society, the largest not-for-profit senior care provider in the U.S., serves more than 27,000 people across 240 sites and employs about 24,000 staff in 24 states. As a highly regulated, compliance-driven organization, the Society needed a reliable way to deliver training where and when employees needed it and to document who had completed required courses and when.

The Society implemented SumTotal Learn: Enterprise to track compliance and then rolled out a subscription library of online courses and customized news pages to improve training delivery and reflect its mission-driven culture. The program drove heavy adoption—over 1 million online course completions in the LMS, about 305,000 courses completed through the online library (roughly 840 per day), and 150 locations subscribing, more than five times their target.
