Air Canada, Canada’s largest full-service airline with over 20,000 employees, faced the challenge of automating and standardizing commercial and regulatory compliance training across multiple business areas and both official languages. The airline needed to deliver consistent, reportable certification and compliance tracking to a geographically dispersed workforce across 60 locations, enhance employee engagement, and balance implementation time with changing operational requirements.

Air Canada deployed SumTotal Learn: Enterprise (cloud) in a phased rollout, redesigning programs into a blended model (about 65% instructor-led, 35% online) and integrating the LMS into onboarding. The cloud solution enabled roughly 200,000 eLearning registrations, eliminated manual certification tracking, delivered flexible anytime/anywhere learning, reduced travel and time away from work, and provided scalable, real-time reporting and automation across the enterprise.
