A Sumsub Case Study
TokenTable, by EthSign, supports web3 companies with token distribution and access control. In January 2024, its customer ZetaChain needed a KYC-gated airdrop for ZETA recipients, but TokenTable had to solve a key challenge: Sumsub’s verification was off-chain, while TokenTable’s backend runs on blockchain smart contracts, so user verification status needed to be securely reflected on-chain for access control.
Sumsub provided identity verification, and TokenTable integrated it with SIGN Protocol to attest each wallet’s KYC status on-chain for the Unlocker smart contract. This let only approved, non-sanctioned claimers receive tokens. The integration with Sumsub took less than a week, the on-chain attestation design took about two weeks, and the result was 17,789,923 ZETA airdropped to KYC-approved users, worth $29,709,171.41.
