Avis Now Transforms the Car Rental Experience with Sumsub’s Fast Verification

Ideal Baltic, part of the Avis Budget Group and operating under the Avis brand in the Baltic region, wanted to automate verification for its Avis Now car sharing service to create a faster, fully digital rental experience. To do this, the company looked for a provider that could handle document verification, fast response times, flexible billing, and driver’s license validation through local DMVs. It chose Sumsub, using services such as ID Verification, Known Face Search, Liveness Check and Face Match, and Ongoing ID Document Monitoring.

Sumsub integrated with the MyAvis Baltics app and Avis Back Office via API after a smooth three-week implementation, supported by sandbox testing. The result was a much faster onboarding flow, with median verification time reduced to 6 seconds and an 89% pass rate, helping users go from app download to booking a car in just a few minutes. AVIS/Ideal Baltic also reported positive user feedback and plans to keep working with Sumsub as it expands its digital services.
