A Sumo Logic Case Study

WHOmentors - Customer Case Study

WHOmentors.com is a nonprofit scientific research organization and 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor of Teen Hackathon that teaches teens to build Alexa skills using AWS Lambda. While Lambda gives them scalable, pay-as-you-go compute for student projects, WHOmentors.com lacked a central dashboard for monitoring many serverless functions and worried about Lambda limits and unexpected costs when students built complex apps.

By adding a single Sumo Logic collector and using Sumo Logic’s Lambda functions to forward CloudWatch logs, WHOmentors.com gained real-time dashboards, alerts, and advanced query-driven analysis. This let the team quickly detect and troubleshoot performance issues, identify and remove unused or oversized functions to control limits and costs, and free trainees to focus on coding instead of log management.
