Medidata, a New York–based life sciences technology company that runs cloud SaaS platforms for clinical trials, faced a growing operations challenge: fragmented, high-volume machine data from a hybrid cloud and microservices architecture—over a million transactions per hour across 5,000+ active trials—making it hard to centralize logs, meet regulatory compliance, and democratize access to diagnostics for engineers and administrators.

Medidata deployed Sumo Logic’s cloud-native analytics to aggregate ~250 GB/day of machine data into a central repository with dashboards, alerts, APIs and custom apps (including SLA monitoring). The rollout (to ~500 users across engineering, ops and NOC teams) sped error detection and resolution, improved compliance visibility, and helped customers bring treatments to market faster and at lower cost.
