Case Study: LendingTree achieves major outage reduction and multi-cloud independence with Sumo Logic

A Sumo Logic Case Study

Preview of the LendingTree Case Study

LendingTree counts on Sumo Logic and Kubernetes to slash revenue-disrupting incidents while also attaining cloud vendor independence

LendingTree, a Charlotte-based online financial marketplace serving millions of customers, needed to minimize outages and revenue‑disrupting incidents while moving to a Kubernetes-driven, multi‑cloud architecture. The challenge was gaining unified visibility and fast troubleshooting across a distributed environment spanning multiple cloud vendors and on‑premise infrastructure.

Building on an existing Sumo Logic deployment, LendingTree ingested Kubernetes logs, metrics, and events into a single set of dashboards to provide discoverability, observability, and security across the stack. The integrated approach cut the number and severity of disruptions—saving the company millions annually—enabled a strategic multi‑cloud migration (AWS, Azure, GCP and bare metal), and is expected to reduce cloud hosting costs by 10–20% while improving vendor flexibility and negotiating leverage.
