Case Study: GREE achieves strict role-based log access and scalable cloud monitoring with Sumo Logic

A Sumo Logic Case Study

Implementing flexible log viewing rights management and scalable monitoring

GREE, a global leader in mobile social games that has expanded into media and live entertainment, faced growing complexity in monitoring as its organization diversified, outsourced development, and migrated dozens of services to AWS. Their in-house auditing system could not enforce strict, product-level log viewing rights or meet cloud requirements like instance-independent storage, scalability, and advanced analysis.

To address this, GREE adopted Sumo Logic’s cloud-native SaaS platform, collecting AWS CloudTrail and retaining only essential logs while implementing Role-Based Access Control tied to internal authentication and an approval workflow. The move delivered flexible, project-based log access, eliminated capacity-planning overhead, and enabled efficient analysis and real-time monitoring with features like LogReduce and Live Tail—reducing operational effort and improving service reliability.
