A Sumo Logic Case Study
GumGum, a Santa Monica–based computer vision company that powers in-image advertising with AWS-hosted deep-learning across thousands of servers, struggled to manage a sprawling, autoscaled distributed environment. Manual troubleshooting and prior logging attempts (Splunk, ELK) imposed heavy operational overhead and missed faults—causing latency that threatened real-time ad-bidding revenue (sub‑60 ms response requirement).
GumGum implemented Sumo Logic’s cloud-native machine-data analytics for real-time visibility, dashboards, fine-grained alerts and LiveTail, centralizing monitoring across its stack. The rollout enabled faster fault detection and repair, safe autoscaling without data loss, an optimized rollout process, and reduced revenue‑impacting outages while allowing the company to scale confidently.
