Case Study: CrossFit North Mesquite achieves stronger community and better performance tracking with SugarWOD

A SugarWOD Case Study

Preview of the CrossFit North Mesquite Case Study

CrossFit Mesquite Making Lives Better Through Movement

CrossFit North Mesquite, founded by Amy and Asa Hadsell, grew from a garage gym to a 130‑member box in Mesquite, TX with a mission to “make lives better through movement.” As the gym expanded, their old tracking methods—paper notebooks and a whiteboard—couldn’t keep up, making it hard for coaches to monitor progress and maintain community connection. They looked for a unified performance‑tracking solution and chose the SugarWOD app.

SugarWOD was rolled out in September 2016 and is now embedded in gym culture: coaches onboard new members to the app at signup, athletes connect and track workouts, and staff can follow individual progress more easily. According to CrossFit North Mesquite, SugarWOD boosted engagement and encouragement across the gym—more conversations, “fist bumping,” and community involvement—while replacing inconsistent notebook tracking with a single, coach‑visible platform.
