NB Power, a Crown corporation in the energy industry, faced a multi-pronged hiring and succession challenge in the early 2000s. Many leaders were nearing retirement, critical roles risked going unfilled, and key operational groups such as the high security response team were difficult to staff and retain. The company also wanted a more systematic way to quickly hire for key openings, reduce bias, and predict hiring success. NB Power turned to SuccessFinder for talent selection and succession support.

SuccessFinder was fully implemented across NB Power’s hiring and succession process, with employee profiles used for internal moves and assessments used to rate external candidates as highly recommend, recommend, or not recommend. This helped HR and managers compare fit more consistently, improved selection quality, and supported development, workforce planning, and other talent uses across the organization. Over time, SuccessFinder was shown to predict job success and improve diversity, while turnover in specific job categories dropped from 40% to less than 5%, an 87%+ reduction.
