Tejon-Castac Water District Partners with Subeca

The Tejon-Castac Water District (TCWD) faced operational challenges due to a need for manual meter reading, which placed pressure on its limited staff. Anticipating significant regional growth, the California utility also required a scalable solution that would support future smart technology investments. To address this, TCWD partnered with vendor Subeca for its plug-and-play LoRaWAN solution and retrofit meter register technology.

Subeca implemented an open, scalable LoRaWAN network that integrated with AWS IoT Core, enabling TCWD to gain remote access to accurate water consumption data. This solution was installed without disrupting water service and eliminated the need for manual readings. As a result, TCWD can now better manage water consumption, reduce operational costs, and is prepared for future growth with a system that accommodates any meter brand.
