To address this, they partnered with vendor Subeca to pilot its Wireless Pin devices, seeking a solution that could integrate seamlessly with their existing billing system.

Subeca implemented its Wireless Pin devices, which were retrofitted onto Marin Water's existing meters and utilized the Amazon Sidewalk network for communication, eliminating the need for any new infrastructure. This solution achieved a 92% read rate within the utility's three-day billing cycle, providing reliable data even from the most challenging locations. The successful pilot, which covered 104 meters, demonstrated significant operational improvements and has paved the way for a potential system-wide expansion across Marin Water's 62,000-meter network.
