City of New York saves thousands of gallons of wastewater with StudioLabs

The City of New York faced the challenge of preventing sewage system overflows during heavy rain by reducing public water usage. They partnered with StudioLabs to expand their existing SMS program into a dedicated mobile application for iOS and Android, aiming to inform residents and encourage them to delay water use.

StudioLabs designed and built an intuitive cross-platform mobile app and a web-based admin portal. The solution provided targeted alerts, allowed users to report deferred water usage, and tracked gallons saved. Following its launch in Spring 2022, the program implemented by StudioLabs successfully saved thousands of gallons of wastewater from overflowing into New York City's waterways.
