Nestle launches a 4,000 m² innovation lab with Studio Banana

Studio Banana was engaged by Nestlé to design the first physical hub for its global R+D Accelerator network in Lausanne. The challenge was to create a flagship innovation lab that would welcome internal and external talent, providing a space to rapidly bring food and beverage innovations to market within a secure yet collaborative environment.

The vendor, Studio Banana, established a comprehensive strategic framework, designing a 4000 m² innovation ecosystem from its visual identity to its physical spaces. The solution included flexible zones like "The Dockyards" and "The Campfire," balancing collaboration, confidentiality, and confidence. This mothership location set the blueprint for Nestlé's global network of accelerators, enabling up to ten project teams to simultaneously steer innovations from inception to testing.
