A Studio 24 Case Study
Studio 24 partnered with cbm, a federation working in so-called ‘developing’ countries to fight exclusion and build inclusive communities. Their challenge was to create a digital tool to ensure people with disabilities can access emergency services with dignity, which needed to be highly performant on poor internet connections, accessible, and easy to maintain.
The solution was the Humanitarian Hands-on Tool (HHoT), a multilingual progressive web app built by Studio 24. This offline-capable tool provides practical advice via task cards and has been deployed in multiple languages across humanitarian crises. It is now used by major organizations like Oxfam and UNICEF in locations such as Rohingya refugee camps and Ukraine, positively impacting marginalized communities and was shortlisted for The Tech for Good Award.
