A Stryker Case Study
Vocera Communications helped the Orange County Library System (OCLS) modernize service at its 290,000 sq. ft., six‑floor main library, where 150 staff struggled to assist hundreds of daily visitors while being tied to desks. Patrons often received only verbal directions from the circulation desk, materials were hard to locate across floors, and staff mobility and responsiveness were limited, creating long lines and slow service.
Vocera deployed a Communications System (75 licenses, 50 wearable badges) after improving Wi‑Fi coverage, trained staff, and put badges into circulation. Front‑desk staff can now call the nearest librarian on a specific floor to meet and guide patrons, enabling roaming assistance, quicker customer handoffs, and instant recall of staff when needed. The result: shorter lines, higher staff productivity and flexibility, improved security, and plans to expand coverage further.
