Talon Metals maps low-velocity ore bodies with STRYDE using 3D seismic reflection data

The customer, Talon Metals, faced the common mining industry challenges of high costs and perceived limitations when attempting to use 3D seismic reflection for mapping the complex geology of their Tamarack Nickel field. To overcome these barriers, they worked with the vendor STRYDE, utilizing their small, cost-effective nodal seismic systems to acquire high-density survey data.

STRYDE's solution involved using first-break refraction tomography derived from the high-density survey. This approach enabled detailed 3D mapping of the overburden and bedrock contact of a magmatic intrusion, while also providing greater detail on the extent of the underlying low-velocity ore bodies. The project demonstrated STRYDE's capability to deliver high-value seismic data that supports more effective mining exploration.
