A STRYDE Case Study
OceaniaGeo sought to conduct a microseismic survey for hydraulic fracture optimization but was challenged by the high cost, time, and environmental footprint traditionally associated with seismic acquisition technology. To address this, they partnered with STRYDE to test the feasibility of its lightweight piezoelectric accelerometer sensor Nodes against conventional geophone systems.
STRYDE supplied 880 of its Nodes, which OceaniaGeo's small team rapidly deployed across a large area. The STRYDE system simplified operations, required less equipment, and collected high-quality data for 25 days in extreme heat without needing a recharge. The results surpassed all expectations, showing no detriment in data quality compared to the geophones and providing a cost-effective solution that is transforming how microseismic surveys are designed for challenging locations.
