Flores Energy images brine targets to 4,000 m in 2 months with STRYDE

Flores Energy, a subsurface specialist, faced the challenge of exploring for brine in a structurally complex area of Mexico. Surface data was insufficient to determine where the mineral-bearing fluids were stored or how they connected at depth, creating significant risk for drilling costly wells. To reduce this uncertainty, they commissioned STRYDE to conduct a seismic survey.

STRYDE deployed their Mini nodal seismic system to acquire high-resolution 3D seismic data across a 5 km² area. The resulting images provided unprecedented clarity of the subsurface to depths of 4,000 meters, enabling the client to confidently map brine-hosting zones and plan a new well. Based on the success of the project, which was a first for the mining operator, they are now planning additional seismic surveys across their portfolio in Mexico to further optimize production.
