BP deploys STRYDE to acquire 3,000-node seismic data for carbon storage appraisal

The customer, bp, was appraising potential carbon storage sites along the Texas Gulf Coast. A key challenge was acquiring high-resolution seismic data in a complex coastal terrain where landowner restrictions limited access for heavy machinery, creating gaps in data coverage. To overcome this, bp leveraged the STRYDE Nimble Seismic System.

STRYDE's solution involved deploying its nodes in conjunction with Explor's man-portable PinPoint source to acquire high-density seismic data in these inaccessible areas. This provided the high-quality data bp's subsurface team needed to refine fault interpretations and update reservoir models, which are critical steps for permit applications. The project was executed safely and efficiently, reinforcing that high data density and alternative source strategies are essential for achieving clear subsurface imaging.
