The Vancouver Whitecaps wanted to expand beyond their loyal season-ticket base and drive new sales during their 2014 season-ticket renewal window (12% off for 12 days). To reach friends of existing fans and amplify the promotion, the club partnered with Strutta and used Strutta’s social media sweepstakes functionality to run the “Strength in Numbers” campaign.

Strutta implemented a fully branded sweepstakes with customized sharing messages, a visible custom share counter, advanced analytics and promoted-tweet tracking. In two weeks the promotion generated 2,544 entries, 2,818 shares, 11,470 click-throughs, a 62.5% lift in visits from social sharing and an average of 4.5 clicks per shared link; the drawn winner (not previously a season-ticket holder) subsequently purchased several season tickets. Strutta’s tools and visible share metrics drove the measurable reach and engagement gains.
