Frameri, a one-month-old online optical startup selling interchangeable lenses and frames, needed a way to drive awareness and traffic to an Indiegogo campaign to raise $30,000. To generate buzz and bring potential donors to its site, Frameri turned to Strutta’s contest platform, using its customizable contest site and tools to launch a design competition.

Using Strutta, Frameri ran the “Frameless” design contest, which in 40 days produced 128 entries, 1,500 votes, 18,000 visitors and 20,000 pageviews, and lifted weekly site visits from 600–700 to 3,000–5,000. Strutta’s features (custom CSS, DIY workflow and Fraud Guard to resolve voting ties) helped ensure a fair, on-brand campaign, and 2% of contest traffic converted to Indiegogo donors—helping Frameri exceed its goal and raise nearly $65,000.
