Uddeholm AB improves materialographic troubleshooting with Struers training for 3 colleagues

Uddeholm AB, a producer of high alloyed tool steel, faced challenges with unacceptable preparation results, specifically halfmoon-shaped scratches after grinding and a lack of reproducible etching methods for hardened steel. Additionally, the organization had too few people with materialographic troubleshooting skills. To address this, they turned to vendor Struers for training.

The solution was for three of Uddeholm's employees to attend Struers' training courses, TPM Basic and TPM Advanced. By sharing their new knowledge internally, the organization significantly improved its troubleshooting abilities. Struers' training enabled the establishment of reproducible preparation methods, effectively eliminating the artefacts that had plagued their results.
