Podium, a software company with 1200+ employees, needed a better way to manage access across its AWS, Kubernetes, and Elixir app environment. Its homegrown tools lacked single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, and clear logging, making access control, auditing, and compliance time-consuming and difficult.

Podium implemented StrongDM to manage database and Elasticsearch access and replace bastion hosts for SSH. With StrongDM, access is automatically assigned through identity provider integration, new engineers can be onboarded faster, database credentials no longer need to be distributed, and audit logging and SSH session replay improved visibility for compliance and security.
