Ironclad, a 600+ employee information technology company on Google Cloud, AWS, and Kubernetes, needed a better way to manage endpoint access and auditing activity. Its VPN-based approach was costly to maintain and didn’t provide the evidence needed for SOC 2 compliance, especially around proving unauthorized access was prevented.

StrongDM provided Ironclad with granular access control, temporary resource access, and detailed audit logging for queries, SSH sessions, and network activity. By integrating with Google Groups, Google Workspace, Datadog, and Slack, StrongDM helped Ironclad automate onboarding, assign least-privilege access by default, reduce attack surface by eliminating locally stored database credentials, and restrict traffic through an egress-only proxy.
