A Strix Case Study
The fashion industry leader, a major fashion retailer, struggled with a fragmented order management and distributed storage system. Their Magento-based online store only had access to one-third of their SKUs from a central ecommerce warehouse, while the rest of the assortment was located in brick-and-mortar stores. This lack of aggregated inventory information made it impossible for customers to purchase or reserve for in-store pickup the majority of their products. Strix was engaged to develop a dedicated order management solution.
Strix implemented an advanced order management system (OMS) that automated and optimized the entire process. The OMS intelligently assigns orders to the optimal store or warehouse based on customizable priority groups and rules, and can even split a single Magento order across multiple locations for fulfillment. This solution integrated the brick-and-mortar store inventory, making the full assortment available online for purchase and in-store pickup. Strix's system also provides customer notifications about order changes and optimizes shipping costs by merging orders.
