TheCut uses Stripe to build its end-to-end payments experiences

theCut is a two-sided marketplace and barber booking app that set out to modernize a cash-heavy industry by helping barbers manage bookings, payments, and client relationships. To support its growth and global expansion, theCut needed a more flexible payments partner, and after using other providers, it switched to Stripe for subscription billing, payments, payouts, and in-person checkout.

Stripe implemented Stripe Billing, Payments, Connect, Terminal, Identity, and new wallet options like Cash App Pay, Apple Pay, and Tap to Pay on iPhone. The result was a more unified and secure payments experience across online and offline channels, with measurable gains including approving 90% of barber applications for payment processing, up from 40%, and Apple Pay quickly becoming the top payment method, accounting for about 40% of payments in the last 30 days.
