SeatGeek, a fan-to-fan ticket marketplace and box office platform, needed a more flexible payments partner as its resale business grew. Its existing setup made seller onboarding slow and payment/fulfillment issues hard to manage, especially when offering buyer discounts while still paying sellers the full ticket price. SeatGeek also wanted to improve card authorization rates and offer more payment options for buyers, and turned to Stripe for help.
SeatGeek implemented Stripe Connect and Stripe Payments to simplify seller onboarding, automate compliance workflows, and decouple buyer charges from seller payouts. With Stripe, SeatGeek lets sellers start listing with minimal information and complete verification later, while also supporting discounts and promotions more easily. The results included a more streamlined seller experience, authorization rates improving by over 1%, conversion rates rising by as much as 2% with Affirm, and order values on Affirm purchases reaching up to 50% higher than other payment methods.
