Samsonite improves customer experience and payment success rate with Stripe

Samsonite, the global baggage brand, was struggling after rolling out 3D Secure 2.0 in Japan: failed payments spiked, customers had trouble checking out, and the team needed a faster way to investigate issues and protect against fraud. To improve its direct-to-consumer operations, Samsonite turned to Stripe and its payment tools.

Using Stripe, Samsonite gained real-time visibility through the Dashboard, added Stripe Radar for fraud detection, and applied 3D Secure 2.0 more selectively to risky transactions with help from Stripe support. The result was a payment success rate of 98%, faster customer issue resolution in 15–30 minutes on average, no increase in fraud during Black Friday, and broader payment acceptance that helped drive more overseas orders.
