Postmates, the on-demand delivery marketplace serving customers across 4,200 U.S. cities, needed a robust payments platform to support multiple payment methods, recurring payments, instant courier payouts, and whitelabeled KYC onboarding. In a highly competitive market, Postmates also wanted higher authorization rates and lower payment costs, and chose Stripe after running an A/B test against another processor.

Using Stripe’s Adaptive Acceptance, Card Account Updater, Smart Retries, and payment consultation services, Postmates improved authorization rates by 2.16% over 12 months. Stripe helped generate more than $70 million in additional revenue and save $3.3 million annually in card network fees, including $11 million from Adaptive Acceptance, $60 million from Card Account Updater, and over $3 million from Smart Retries.
