A Stripe Case Study
Orix developed PATPOST, an electronic business document storage service, to help companies manage large volumes of digital invoices, receipts, and account books amid Japan’s stricter electronic recordkeeping rules. To launch the service, Orix needed a payment system that could keep costs low, automate fees and referral commissions, and minimize changes to existing workflows, so it selected Stripe after comparing about 10 providers.
Stripe implemented payment automation and revenue-recognition support for PATPOST, including Stripe Connect for referral commission payouts and tools for managing billing, reminders, reviews, and subscription operations. With Stripe, Orix reduced manual work, lowered payment fees, sped up contract processing, and gained support for compliance and accounting tasks, enabling PATPOST to launch in May 2023 after about a year of development.
