Joyn is a German streaming service backed by ProSiebenSat.1 and Discovery that serves over 7 million monthly users and is the country’s top free video platform. After a relaunch, Joyn faced a critical delay: nine months without a working payment system threatened its subscription rollout and conversions, so the company urgently needed a payments partner that could go live quickly and support rapid experimentation.

Joyn implemented Stripe (Payments, Billing, Radar) to build a new payments flow and launched an MVP in four weeks, with full capabilities shortly after—about 9x faster than other platforms. Stripe’s tools and transparency reduced churn and card-failure rates, enabled card verification and fraud checks at signup, expanded payment options (digital wallets, prepaid), and gave Joyn the analytics to iterate pricing and subscription models to boost conversions and revenue.
