Matches Fashion is a global luxury online retailer serving customers in 176 countries, with over 180 million site visits annually and most sales made online. To protect a high-value, digitally dependent business, the company needed to improve payment authorisation rates and expand local and global payment options to reduce declines and capture more revenue.

Working with Stripe, Matches Fashion implemented six global card schemes plus France’s Cartes Bancaires, and used Stripe’s Adaptive Acceptance, Card Account Updater, Radar, and multi‑currency settlements to optimise authorisations, reduce declines, and protect margins. The changes delivered a 2.47% uplift in authorisation rates — generating more than £6 million in additional annual revenue — with double‑digit improvements in markets like France.
