A Stripe Case Study
Luckin Coffee, the fast-growing coffee chain, needed a flexible and scalable payment solution to support its international expansion into Singapore and Malaysia. As it moved from China’s mobile-first O2O model to markets where customers prefer cards and other local payment methods, it turned to Stripe to deliver a seamless checkout experience and help manage the complexity of new payment landscapes.
Working with Stripe, Luckin Coffee implemented a localized payment solution using Stripe’s payment tools, including Payment Element, Link, and the Stripe Dashboard. The integration was completed for two markets in just one month, reducing development costs and enabling rapid rollout; since then, Luckin Coffee has opened over 30 stores in Singapore and entered Malaysia with two stores. Stripe also helped support popular local methods like Apple Pay, Google Pay, GrabPay, PayNow, and FPX, improving transaction speed, reducing cart abandonment, and giving Luckin Coffee better real-time payment visibility and reconciliation.
