Le Monde, a major French media brand, wanted to expand its digital content internationally while improving subscriber payments in France and abroad. To attract and retain new subscribers in markets like the US and Africa, Le Monde needed local payment methods, a smoother checkout, and better handling of PSD2 regulations, so it turned to Stripe.
Le Monde implemented Stripe to create a frictionless global payments experience, using Stripe’s API, Sigma for reporting, and Radar for fraud prevention. Stripe helped reduce failed transactions, streamline payment management, and support international growth, with Le Monde’s CEO saying it would help capture payments they could not before and plan to migrate other brands to Stripe.
