Intelsat, a global satellite services provider offering in-flight Wi‑Fi across more than 25 airlines, needed to replace an aging, fragmented payment stack with a simpler system that could support global payments, recurring billing, and regional tax handling. The company wanted to make paying for onboard internet faster and easier for passengers, and it chose Stripe to help power that experience.

With Stripe Payments, Stripe Organizations, and planned use of Stripe Checkout, Stripe Billing, and Stripe Tax, Intelsat unified its payments infrastructure and streamlined checkout across airline partners. Working with Stripe professional services, Intelsat reduced reconciliation from five providers to one, saw a 45% increase in checkout rate for customers with saved cards, and achieved a 10% lift in authorization rates.
