How Figma’s finance team uses Stripe for its $10B business

Figma, the collaborative design platform turned AI-powered product suite, needed to update its pricing and billing as it prepared to expand into a multi-product future. Using Stripe Payments and Stripe Billing, Figma sought a flexible way to migrate existing users, handle monthly and annual subscriptions, and support a global customer base with local currencies and payment methods.

Stripe implemented Billing subscription schedules and Stripe Invoicing to help Figma roll out its new billing model smoothly, while the Payment Element localized checkout and added payment methods like SEPA bank payments. The results included a redesigned billing model launched in March 2025, better transparency for users, and support for a customer base where international users account for about 50% of revenue and 85% of users; Stripe also positioned Figma to expand payment options further through the Optimized Checkout Suite.
