Hero Health Gets UK General Practitioners Paid Faster With Stripe Invoicing

Hero Health, a UK patient engagement and practice management platform for GP clinics, needed to replace its custom-built invoicing system while also adding more advanced billing features and better support for in-person payments. Using Stripe Payments and Stripe Connect, Hero Health looked to Stripe Invoicing to handle growing invoicing complexity, link payments more reliably to patient invoices, and reduce the burden of maintaining its own infrastructure.

Stripe implemented a solution combining Stripe Invoicing with Stripe Payments, Stripe Connect, and Stripe Terminal, giving Hero Health features like discount codes, partial credit notes, flexible metadata, and integrated point-of-sale payments. The result was faster payments for practices—average collection time fell from 16.2 days to 7.4 days, a 54% improvement—while helping nearly 6,000 practices and 65 million patients access seamless payments through their existing systems.
