HelloAsso is a free fundraising platform built to help French non-profits raise money online, but it faced friction in the donation journey and onboarding issues that prevented many organizations from getting started. About 30% of non-profits were being rejected during payment-network onboarding, creating financial and reputational risk. HelloAsso turned to Stripe, including Stripe Connect and Premium Support, to improve payments and simplify the onboarding process.
With Stripe, HelloAsso introduced smoother one-time and recurring donations, better onboarding documentation, and alternative verification options, while preparing to add Tap to Pay for mobile fundraising. The results were strong: payment acceptance rose from 75% to 94%, service disruptions fell by 99.2%, and 120,000 charity accounts were activated and verified across Europe. The improved reliability also helped HelloAsso win trust from major clients such as the French Basket Federation and the French Tennis Federation.
