Celsys, the maker of Clip Studio Paint used by more than 45 million creators worldwide, needed a more reliable payment system as it expanded internationally. Its previous provider struggled with overseas transactions, limited currency support, English-only tools, and service outages during sales, all of which made it harder for customers to purchase the app and led to missed revenue opportunities.
Celsys chose Stripe and implemented Stripe Elements, Stripe Billing, Payment Links, and paid support to improve subscriptions, international payments, and migration of 200,000 contracts. With Stripe, Celsys achieved zero errors since 2022, cut daily fraudulent chargebacks by about 75%, improved support with a Japanese-language dashboard, and reduced the effort and cost of system changes.
