Case Study: Beerwulf achieves frictionless global payments and lower fraud risk with Stripe

A Stripe Case Study

Preview of the Beerwulf Case Study

Beerwulf builds a global marketplace with Stripe’s comprehensive payments experience

Beerwulf, a subsidiary of Heineken, needed a payment partner to support its growing craft beer marketplace across 10 EU and UK markets while delivering a frictionless checkout and reducing fraud. As customer preferences shifted after COVID, Beerwulf also had to adapt to different local payment methods and maintain loyalty as it expanded its home draught systems and beer delivery offerings.

Beerwulf turned to Stripe, using Stripe Connect to launch its marketplace in under two months and Stripe Radar to detect and block fraud with machine learning. With Stripe, Beerwulf improved payment acceptance, protected transactions, and adapted to local preferences such as iDEAL in the Netherlands and credit cards in the UK; the company was so impressed that it moved all payment volume to Stripe, including its subscription platform.
