Alma, a buy now, pay later provider launched in 2018, needed to make its checkout experience seamless while accurately assessing credit risk and preventing fraud. Stripe worked closely with Alma through enterprise support, workshops, technical guidance, and integration monitoring to optimize retries and reduce API errors. The results were strong: merchants saw average order value rise by over 262% when customers used Alma, conversion rates topped 90%, annualised processing cost savings exceeded €300,000, and API errors fell 53% from 1,053 to 485 over the course of a year.
