Logistics and Supply Chain Tech Company Accelerates Cloud Adoption with Striim

Leading Supply Chain Technology Provider, a logistics and supply chain technology company serving customers in over 130 countries, needed to migrate one of its three key SaaS applications to the cloud to increase scalability and resilience. The challenge was to move a 1TB, multi-tenant Oracle production database to Google Cloud quickly, accurately and with minimal risk — and critically, without taking the production database offline. The company selected Striim, using Striim Migration Service for Google Cloud, to meet these requirements.

Striim implemented a bulk load followed by continuous unidirectional streaming (CDC) from the on-premises Oracle source to a MySQL target on Google Compute Engine, enabling the migration to complete without downtime and with full data integrity. As a result, the migration of the 1TB database was completed with no significant disruption to tens of thousands of global users, allowed the organization to decommission its source data center for long-term cost savings, and made provisioning and scaling on Google Cloud fast and simple — all delivered using Striim.
