HomeServe Delivers Watertight Service to Homeowners using Streaming Data Integration

HomeServe, the home assistance provider behind the LeakBot smart water‑leak detector, needed better operational intelligence and insurer reporting without impacting its LeakCentral MySQL transactional system. To move rich, real‑time device and repair data into Google BigQuery for analytics and reporting, HomeServe selected Striim’s streaming data integration platform with low‑impact change data capture.

Striim continuously captures every insert, update and delete (via binary logs and JSON columns), masks data in‑flight, and streams it into BigQuery without degrading LeakCentral performance or leaving the Google Cloud environment. As a result, Striim enabled live business dashboards and insurer reports that demonstrate ROI, gave data scientists granular feeds to improve LeakBot’s machine‑learning models, and provided the operational detail insurers need to better price and mitigate the large share of claims caused by water damage.
