GMC Streamlines Analytics and Slashes Costs by Replacing Legacy Systems

The General Medical Council (GMC), the UK regulator for doctors, needed to modernize analytics for 300,000+ practitioners while reducing reliance on legacy on‑prem systems and costly tools like Tableau and Informatica. To bridge on‑prem Siebel CRM data to a new Azure analytics stack and enable wider Power BI use, GMC engaged Striim and its Change Data Capture (CDC) platform as part of its modernization effort.

Striim continuously streams production data from GMC’s on‑prem Siebel CRM into Microsoft Azure, eliminating batch ETL delays and reducing data latency and operational strain on source systems. As a result, Striim helped GMC significantly cut analytics-related operational costs, centralize data in Azure for self-service Power BI reporting, enable near‑real‑time analytics readiness, and position the organization for future AI/ML use cases.
